Community Movement – Fællesskab i bevægelse – Folkemøde 2019

 In News

What a great weekend, VEN had! For three consecutive years,  Vejle Expat Network contributed to Folkemøde (peoples meeting) in Vejle.

During the Folkemøde, Vejle celebrates democracy. For two days, 7th and 8th of June, the event gathered the most active actors in Vejle, from politicians and municipal employees to all sorts of associations. On Friday, VEN has been part of the Open House event at Foreningernes Hus and celebrated Folkemøde, on Saturday, under the “Højt til loftet” umbrella.

“Højt til loftet” is an association where many actors co-create events encouraging experimenting and a more sustainable lifestyle. This years’ theme for “Højt til loftet” event was the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The “Fællesskab I bevægelse” – “Community movement” was VENs’ contribution related with the third UN goal – health and wellbeing. As every year, our association managed to gather the most talented volunteers. For three hours, we managed to create the perfect setting for practicing Zumba, Yoga, Yoga with kids, Belly dance and Pilates. Have you heard of the secret rooftop in Vejle Midpunktet? If not, you are about to find out about the most wonderful place to relax or eat your lunch, during the cool summer days. (see the picture where you can find the secret rooftop) ⇒

The weather was “wonderful” – wind, some showers – but the very talented trainers and dance instructor pumped up our mood: Romy Montano Galarza, Katherine Leah, Nina Chatelain and Merve Cevik. The weather did not scared us and the delicious snacks, nuts, fruits and vegetables made bearable the capricious weather.

We would like to thank to our volunteers and the social media specialist, Cristina Slusariuc, “Højt til loftet” for the amazing space and the well-managed created frame for the event, to the Expat relocation consultant – Louise Nielsen and to all the participants to this event.
