Success story – March
Luiza Onciu Papara is our first success story. Let’s know more about her and how she landed a job in Denmark.
What kind of professional life did you have before you moved to Denmark?
I was a graduate when I moved to Denmark. My dream was to continue my studies in the business field.
How has your professional career developed since you moved here?
I had the opportunity to work in the public sector, that was a big dream I had when I was in high school, but always hoped for a position in an international company. In September 2019, I obtained the position that I wished for.
What are you working on currently?
I am a Project Coordinator at Siemens Gamesa.
Has networking in VEN helped you to increase your network and develop new skills useful for your professional life?
100% YES. When I started volunteering for VEN, I had no work experience and no knowledge of the Danish work market. Not only that I met new internationals, but I had the chance to contribute for events that were organised by the Vejle Municipality. I became better at speaking Danish, socialising with different people from different cultures and I improved my organising and planning skills.
What would you recommend to internationals living in Vejle and the Triangle Region for achieving their professional goals?
They should volunteer for different local initiatives and take part as much as they can in the events organised by the Municipality or different institutions, as Work-Live-Stay (WLS) or Work in Denmark, that advise on how to find a job. They should meet new people, internationals and Danes, and don’t be afraid to network and be curious.
